Classic Chachapoyas 3 days 2 nights.

This program presents us with a very dynamic circuit of visits to the main archaeological complexes of the Region of Amazonas, as well as to sarcophaguses and mausolea that date back between 1100 and 1300 a .D., pre-Incan tombs, in almost unaccessible places, petroglyphs and the Fortress of Kuélap; a majestic architectural work built by the Chachapoyas, on top of a mountain. It is the mountainous jungle’s most imposing monumental complex, and it is surrounded by cliffs and precipices on three of its four sides. Inside the more than 20 meter high fortified walls, it shelters 505 living quarters, the majority of which are of circular layout. Finally, we´ll end the program, visiting the famous and impressive Cataract of Gocta, the fourth highest in the world, which is surrounded by exuberant nature.

CLASSIC CHACHAPOYAS PROGRAM

DAY 01           Archaeological Complex of Macro / Fortress of Kuélap

• Upon arrival, transfer from the bus station to the hotel
• Breakfast at the hotel
• 8:00 a.m.: Guided excursion to the Archaeological Complex of Macro
• Going by the picturesque villages of Nuevo Tingo, Choctamal and María
• Guided excursion to the Fortress of Kuélap
• Lunch in the area
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel
• Dinner on your own account.

DAY 02           Chipuric’s Mausolea / Karajia’s Sarcophaguses

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Transfer to the Province of Luya – Lamud
• Observation of Chipuric’s Mausolea
• Going by the picturesque villages of Cohechan and Cruzpata
• Guided excursion to Karajia’s Sarcophaguses
• Lunch in the area
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel
• Dinner on your own account.

DAY 03           La Pitaya ’s Petroglyphs and Gocta’s Cataract

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Transfer to the village of Cocachimba
• Guided visit to La Pitaya ´s Petroglyphs
• Hike from Cocachimba to Gocta’s Cataract
• Observation of flora and fauna in the cloud forest
• Lunch in the area
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel or bus station.
