Classic Kuelap (05 Days / 04 Nights)

The city of Chiclayo is this program’s starting point, travelling during the day, on a private transportation, to the city of Chachapoyas and returning by the same route. We will visit several of Amazonas´ main cultural and natural attractions, such as Chipuric’s Mausolea, Karajia’s Sarcophaguses, Macro’s Archaeological Complex, La Pitaya’s, Petroglyphs and Kuelap Fortress; a majestic architectural work built by the Chachapoyas, on top of a high mountain. It is the mountainous jungle’s most imposing monumental complex, and is surrounded by cliffs and precipices on three of its four sides. Inside walls rising more than 20 meters high, it shelters 505 living quarters, the majority of which have a circular layout. Finally, we will visit the famous and impressive Cataract of Gocta which is the world’s fourth highest, and is surrounded with exuberant nature.

Classic Kuelap PROGRAM

DAY 01           Transfer in Private Service: Chiclayo / Chachapoyas

• 8:30 a.m.: Departure from Chiclayo , heading to the city of Chachapoyas , on a private vehicle
• Box lunch on the way
• 6:00 p.m.: Arrival in the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel.

DAY 02           Mausolea of Chipuric / Sarcophaguses of Karajia

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Transfer to the Province of Lamud
• Observation of the Mausolea of Chipuric
• Observation of the Mausolea of Chipuric
• Going by the picturesque villages of Cohechan and Cruzpata
• Guided excursion to the Sarcophaguses of Karajia
• Lunch in the area.
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel
• Dinner on your own account.

DAY 03           Archaeological Complex of Macro / Fortress of Kuélap

• Breakfast at the hotel
• 8:00 a.m.: Guided excursion to the Archaeological Complex of Macro
• Going by the picturesque villages of Nuevo Tingo, Choctamal and María
• Guided excursion to the Fortress of Kuélap
• Lunch in the area
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel Dinner on your own account.

DAY 04          Petroglyphs of La Pitaya / Cataract of Gocta

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Transfer to the village of Cocachimba
• Guided visit to the of La Pitaya
• Hike from Cocachimba to the Cataract of Gocta
• Observation of flora and fauna, in the cloud forest
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel
• Dinner on your own account.

DAY 05           Transfer Chachapoyas / Chiclayo

• 8:00 a.m.: Departure from Chachapoyas, heading to the city of Chiclayo
• Box lunch on the way.
• 5:00 p.m.: Arrival in the city of Chiclayo and transfer to the hotel or airport.
